Our Programs

Law Help Colorado

The Commission hosts Colorado’s newly-launched hub for free, easy-to-understand legal information on housing, family, and money and debt. This site helps Coloradans understand their options, learn their next steps, and find legal help nearby. Law Help Colorado is a joint project of the Commission, Colorado Legal Services, and the Colorado Judicial Department.

Legal Aid Grants

The Commission supported the successful passage of a bill creating the Equal Justice Authority in 2024, creating a new grant fund for legal aid. Launched in January of 2025, the fund has distributed over $5M to qualifying legal aid organizations. The fund is directed by the Equal Justice Authority Board. The Commission staffs and administers the grantmaking process.

Pro Bono Resources

The Pro Bono Resource Center facilitates collaboration across pro bono organizations, foster a culture of pro bono service in the legal profession, and develops statewide pro bono support resources. This helps bridge the gap for people who need but cannot afford a lawyer. A central feature of our pro bono work is Pro Bono CO-  Colorado’s statewide clearinghouse for attorneys to find pro bono opportunities.

Rural Justice Internships

The Commission’s eight-week summer internship program places law students who are interested in rural legal practice in 6 of Colorado’s rural communities. Law students are immersed in the local legal community and supported in building pathways to eventual careers. In 2025 and 2026, the program drew national interest, with more than 100 applicants from over 40 different law schools.

Rural Legal Clinics

This program – called the “Virtual Pro Se Clinic” – provides free monthly clinics for rural Coloradans in partnership with their local libraries. Rural Coloradans can sign up through their local libraries on a first-come first-serve basis to receive legal advice from an attorney. Spanish language clinics are also offered. Monthly clinics are held in over 40 libraries and provide direct legal services to roughly 80 patrons per month.
